The Health District is hosting a community outreach meeting to share details and gather public input on proposed septic system regulations.

The Health District is updating its septic regulations to protect drinking water, prevent pollution of the environment, and avoid costly cleanups in the future. Septic systems that are aging or located near the water table can allow contaminants such as nitrates to enter groundwater and potentially cause illness. Updating the rules helps ensure wells remain safe and property owners avoid health risks and expensive repairs to their septic systems down the road.

Community members are invited to attend to learn more, ask questions, and provide feedback.
