The Northstar Commonwealth home school students will perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Old Logandale School on Friday, May 30. The performance is open to the public. The show will begin at 7:00 p.m. and cost $5 per person or $20 for families.

Pam Pulver and Raina Stump are the class mentors and have been busy teaching their students about Shakespeare. “The kids have been working hard to learn their parts,” said play director, Pam Pulver.

Children and adults from Northstar Commonwealth prepare for their upcoming play, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ which will be performed on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Old Logandale School.

Directing a play is new to Pulver but she is taking it all in stride, looking at it as a learning experience.

Stump is the Producer of the play and student Brooklyn Trotter is taking on the Assistant Director role as well as performing as a cast member. The Northstar Commonwealth group is looking to raise enough funds through this play to allow them to attend the Shakespearean Festival in Utah this summer. The students have been learning about Shakespeare for some time and it would be a “reward” for them to attend the Festival.

Both students and adults, a total of 28 in all, will be performing in the play. The play has been edited to allow for time and understanding of the story.

In between scenes the Zephyr Consort, all local performers, will be providing live renaissance music.

Many costumes were loaned from generous friends of the theatre and the items available for purchase at the thrift store have saved the day as far as what was lacking.

Mark your calendar, load up the family and be sure to attend this play which is sure to be entertaining.
