The annual community Trunk or Treat event is expected to be bigger than ever this year. It is scheduled to take place on Halloween night from 7-9 p.m. at the Clark County Fairgrounds.

Tensions ran high last week among a few parents over the handling of an incident at Moapa Valley High School where a student allegedly made open threats to classmates of doing violence to school staff and fellow students.

It’s often true for voters that the further down the ballot they look, the more puzzling their decision becomes. This year, the bottom of the ballot includes five county administrative races and no less than 30 judicial seats! Those are bound to pose a challenge to the average voter.

I have enjoyed your well written editorials for years and for the most part have found them to be right on point. Unfortunately, last week’s analysis and recommendation on Ballot Question 1 were well meaning but just plain factually inaccurate.
We are victims of the recent Moapa Valley floods of 2014. We live in the vicinity of Spur and Lewis Streets at the southern area of the valley. We were also victims of the major flood of 2005.
