OBITUARY: Jeremy David Marshall

Jeremy David Marshall

Jeremy David Marshall

On the evening of June 28, 2021, Jeremy David Marshall, age 43, was returning home to his family from work, when he was tragically killed in a head on collision by a wrong way driver. His sudden and tragic death has impacted hundreds of heartbroken family members and friends.

Jeremy was born in St George, Utah on September 3, 1977. He was raised in Overton, Nevada where he still has many close family members and friends. In 1992, his family moved to Cedar City, Utah where he graduated from Cedar High School and later graduated with his Bachelor’s degree from Southern Utah University in 2005.

He served an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in London, England. His father, David Marshall, ordained Jeremy to the Melchizedek Priesthood. Jeremy was married to Elizabeth Brown in the Manti, Utah temple on September 3, 2005. He and his family moved to Yucaipa, CA in southern California in March 2013 where he transitioned from Vivint Alarm to Vivint Solar.

As a child Jeremy loved BMX bikes, racing slot cars and RC motor cars. His children now participate in BMX events. He loved scouting. His proudest achievement as a young man was earning his Eagle Scout. For earning the Eagle rank, his mother bought him a red 1978 Ford truck. He spent years restoring his truck with loved ones and visiting car shows.

Jeremy was always a faithful Latter-day Saint, husband, father, son, brother and friend. His life was molded by his faith in Jesus Christ, his family, and his friends. He thrived in his role as a provider and protector in the family. Jeremy’s dedication, work ethic and loyalty in his career, to friends, as a spouse and as a father were unmatched. He was always a great mentor to young men. His whit was like none other. He quietly served with little fanfare and he would refer to himself as the “Funcle”, and the nieces and nephews agreed. His influence was widespread. Above all, he was most proud of his beautiful family.

He lived for them and fought for their comfort and safety. He was a loving, devoted father full of teasing, cheering, memories and dad jokes.

Jeremy leaves behind his lovely wife Elizabeth Marie Brown Marshall; his four children: Davie Lynn (14), Karson Tim (12), Troy Jeremy (9), and Emzlee Elizabeth (6); his mother, Kim Yvette Marshall; sisters: Heather Elsie Marshall (Travis) Carter and Heidi Eileen Marshall; nieces and nephews: Gavin, Hallie, Gemma, Nellie, Matt (Sierra) Gunter, Marshall (Madi) Gunter, and Morgan Kim (Jameson) Pettigrew; aunt, Linda Lyon; great nieces: Paisley, Piper and Elsie Blue; and maternal grandparents, Eileen Lani Boyce and Tim Boyce.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his father, David Edwin Marshall.

A viewing will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the LDS Stake Center, 725 S. 1100 W., Cedar City, UT, and again Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral at 11:00 a.m.

My heart goes to your family and friends. I know personally how it feels to lose someone so special.
And it may not work for everyone but I find it very comforting when I talk with them and laugh as if they are still here. I may not see them in flesh but they live in our hearts forever. He’s in a beautiful place a we are promised to be reunited once again for eternity. Hes building your home in heaven. That always brings me Pease when I am missing my loved ones. I hope it help you find comfort to. Heaven is not in the sky above us. Heaven is all around us. Just reach out your hand and he will hold on to yours. I promise his spirit can feel you. Im so sorry for your loss but i will pray for your comfort and I hope that these words will bring you a little piece. He is in a beautiful place.
