CasaBlanca to offer free concerts during renovations

I got to speak to Justin Moore, CEO of Mesquite Gaming recently. We talked about upcoming changes and how it would affect the music scene at the resort. Here’s how it went.

The Ear: Mesquite Gaming changed hands in the past year, how is it going?
Mr. Moore: Yes, the investment company, Oak Tree Capital. acquired Mesquite Gaming on December 1, 2023. We are excited to be here in Mesquite. One of the things that attract us to Mesquite Gaming is the great staff they have.

The Ear: What is your background that landed you here?
Mr. Moore: I have been the General Manager at casinos in Pennsylvania and New York. I started my career at The Station Casino in Las Vegas, so I am glad to be back here in Nevada. My family lives in St. George and here in Mesquite.

The Ear: Can you give us an update on the renovations at the CasaBlanca and Virgin River?
Mr. Moore: The renovation is going well, as has been reported we are spending $6 million on improvements at the CasaBlanca alone. The Show Room will have open doors and replace the Sky Lounge as the main entertainment area. There will also be slot machines in a non-smoking area as well.

The Show Room will also have a drop-down large screen TV for watching sports. We hope to have this ready by the end of August or early September for football season.
The Sky Lounge area will also have new slot machines and the stage there will be replaced by a new bar.

The Ear: Will the Virgin River be getting renovations as well?
Mr. Moore: The Virgin River will get some love with a newly renovated sports book and a giant TV. The old sports book area will get new slot machines.

The Ear: So, in the meantime Casa will offer free poolside concerts, is that correct?
Mr. Moore: That is correct, we will have the Spazmatics on June 29 and Journey USA on July 20.

The Ear: With the concerts being free will you have enough room for the crowd?
Mr. Moore: The Casa has a large outdoor area and of course people can hang out in the pool. So, bring your bathing suit and we look forward to seeing you poolside.
