“… Or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press…” Yes, speech and the press are combined as a right in the first amendment, and that makes sense to me. These 10 words assure us that we can both say and write whatever we want and big brother guarantees that people won’t come around and try to stop us. This is why so many falsehoods and lies are on the Internet, and in print, and we’re not allowed to require the writers to knock it off or to correct their errors.
A pile of religious materials from all over the world with national and state flags on top can be set on fire intentionally and the perpetrators cannot even be charged with littering.
These 10 words have been the driving force behind too much bad judgment and ill intent against us, the people. But to ensure my ability to write this, we all are forced to put up with the whims of our nation’s lowest common denominators.
