St. John’s Catholic Church held its annual Fall Fiesta on Saturday. Crowds of local residents gathered at the traditional festival to enjoy the tastes of authentic Mexican cuisine that are the hallmark of the event.
It wasn’t just the empanadas and tacos and tamales and pozole and burritos. It wasn’t just the carnival throws. It wasn’t just singing “Happy Birthday” to Joe Flores who reached a joyful 80 years young and who is a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus (local chapter). It wasn’t just the joyful music and beautiful weather.
It was all of it combined and more.
Since 1969 this celebration has been held – originally in conjunction with the Clark County Fair and then at St. John’s Catholic Church in Overton and then in Logandale. It has always been a time to gather with friends old and new, enjoy the music and eat oneself silly.
