Valley of Fire Bicycle Stage Race @ Mack Lyon Middle School
Feb 28 – Mar 1 all-day

On Saturday, the Criterium race event will take place near downtown Overton. Cyclists will zip around a one mile course circling Mack Lyon Middle School. The Criterium is planned to begin at 10:00 a.m. and will continue through various categories until late afternoon.

On Sunday, the cyclists will participate in the final stage of the race: the grueling Valley of Fire Road Race. The first riders will begin at 7:00 a.m. with other categories following every 15 minutes after that until about 8:30.

The Rotary Club is also posting volunteers around both courses to guide the cyclists and to instruct traffic.
Volunteers are still being sought to help in this important annual event. To volunteer or to get additional information call Chuck Utgard at 800-875-9884.

Baseball Alumni Game @ Moapa Valley High School

Once again it is the Alumni vs. the Moapa Valley Pirate Baseball team.
The big game is scheduled for this Saturday, February 28 at Moapa Valley High School. There will be a huge concession with hamburgers, hot dogs, chili, chips, pop, candy, baked goods, and popcorn. What’s a good ball game without good food!
All proceeds will go to the Robison/Sandoval Scholarship fund. This scholarship is sponsored by Shannon Phillipenas, who not only wanted to honor his fellow teammates, but to do it for a worthy cause.

‘Walk For Wishes’ Event

Lost City Museum Kid’s Day @ Lost City Museum

Local students (K-5) are invited to participate in a free, fun filled morning at the museum. Space is limited to the first 50 students. A parent or guardian must pre-register in person at the museum. Staff will provide crafts, an educational program and a small snack. The program will end at 11:30 a.m.
