Moapa kids spent three fun-filled days at the Moapa Recreation Center during the first annual “Fun Factor”. Fun Factor was sponsored by Clark County Parks and Recreation and took place from January 2-4.

Parks and Rec is always striving to provide fun times for Moapa Valley’s youth as well as adults. It looks like another successful program has come to fruition. Rec Specialist Gail Lindsey put together a variety of fun activities for the kids to enjoy.

From 11:00 am through 2:00 pm each day kids enjoyed the activities planed for them. Approximately 20 kids attended each day of Fun Factor. Activities include medic ball, dodge ball, “Gail” says (rather than Simon says), racquet smack-it, line tag and 3 step.

These are just a few of the fun games that were enjoyed by attendees. Not only did the kids get to spend time playing fun and exciting games together, they go to make crafts to enjoy and take home to share with their families.

Snacks were available to the children to keep them fueled for all the fun and games and relaxing time was spent watching movies.

On Friday, the kids had the opportunity to make their very own personal size pizzas with English Muffins. Yum Yum!

Parks and Rec has an exciting schedule going into the New Year with some new activities. Sign ups are now taking place for Adult Co-Rec Dodgeball. There will be four weeks of games which will begin on February 7.

The Moapa Fitness Club will open on January 14 at the Moapa Recreation Center. This is a great opportunity to spend time getting fit with friends. There will be walking, aerobics, yoga and weight lighting available and great for moms, children are welcome!

Upcoming in February is another newbie, Men’s and Women’s Winter Softball Leagues will take shape.
