Moapa Valley Progress
The Moapa Valley Town Advisory Board will meet tonight, January 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the Overton Community Center.
In General Business, the Board will hear a presentation by Bruce Whitney regarding the Crystal Darkness Meth Campaign being sponsored in the community by the Moapa Valley Community for Substance Abuse Awareness organization (CSAW).
The Board will also request a recommendation to fill the vacant board position on the MVTAB and will discuss the selection of a new Vice-chairperson. The Board will hear one zoning item. The request coming from the Moapa Valley Telephone Company is for a Use Permit to expand an existing communications facility on 1.1 acres in a C-2 (General Commercial) Zone. Also Waivers Of Development Standards are being requested for the following: 1) permit a metal building with vertical lap; 2) permit a flat roof not screened by a parapet wall; and 3) permit buildings that are not architecturally compatible. Finally a Design Review is requested for an addition to an existing communications building and construction of a new metal storage building. All of these requests are generally located on the north side of Liston Avenue, 145 feet west of Moapa Valley Boulevard in Logandale.
