Criminal Court was held on Wednesday, January 30, at the Moapa Valley Justice Court in Overton, Nevada.

Defendant-Laurie Rae Zubia
Charges – DUI, Failure to Maintain Travel Lane- Pled no contest to Reckless Driving, other charges dismissed. Ordered 50 hours community service, No driving, 30 days in the Clark County Detention Center to be held in abeyance for one year during which time Zubia must stay out of trouble. Status check set for March calendar.

Defendant-Glynn D. Mayson
Charges – Aiming a Firearm at Human, Ex-Felon Failure to Register- Mayson in custody at Clark County Detention Center refused to be transported to court. Judge Waite ordered Mayson to appear on next court calendar, cash only bail set at $10,000.

Defendant Edward D. Steffan
Charges – Conspiracy, Fraud, Theft- Steffan waived right to a preliminary hearing and will face his charges in the 8th Judicial District Court in Las Vegas where he will then negotiate a plea agreement with the District Attorney’s office on February 11.

Defendant – Tawnia L. Steffan
Charges – Conspiracy, Fraud, Theft- Pled guilty to Misdemeanor Theft, ordered 90 days in the Clark County Detention Center, four days to be served in jail, 86 days to be held in abeyance. $10,000 joint restitution to be paid with co-defendant, Letter of apology to community to be written and printed in local newspaper. Status check scheduled for March calendar.

Defendant – John C. Jessop
Charges – DUI- Pled down to Reckless Driving. Ordered 10 days in the Clark County Detention Center to be held in abeyance for one year during which time defendant must stay out of trouble and complete all terms given. Also ordered to attend and complete one session of STOP DUI, attend and complete DUI School, fees totaling $1,192, $1,000 civil assessment to be paid to charitable organization of defendants choice, complete 300 hours of community service. Status check set for March calendar.

Defendant – Krishna D. Rawson
Charges – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia- Pled no contest to charge. Ordered: 30 days in the Clark County Detention Center to be held in abeyance during which time defendant must stay out of trouble, 100 hours of community service to be completed, $500 in fines to be paid, drug counseling to be determined, subject to random UA’s. Status check set for March calendar.

Defendant – Michelle Black
Charges – Battery Domestic Violence- Defendant appeared in court in custody, attorney appointed and not guilty plea entered by court. Released from custody, trial set for March calendar.

Defendant – Jorge Alberto Hernanez Chavez
Charges – DUI, No Drivers License, Failure to Maintain Lane, Driving Left of Center- Defendant failed to appear in court, arrest warrant issued, bail set totaling $3,500.

Defendant – Defendant – Cody Frawley
Charge – Battery Domestic Violence- Defendant failed to appear in court, arrest warrant issued, bail set totaling $1,500.

Defendant – Ronald Gay
Charge – Battery Domestic Violence- Arrest warrant already issued, defendant again failed to appear in court, warrant still in effect.

Defendant – Amy M. Madewell
Charge – Battery Domestic Violence- Attorney appointed in case, not guilty plea entered on defendants behalf, trial set for March calendar

Defendant – Brian M. Novads
Charges – Burglary, Grand Larceny of Firearm, & Possession of Stolen Property- Novads was to appear in court on arrest warrant, failed to appear in court. Arrest warrant in effect.

Defendant – Cody Ohara
Charges – Burglary, Battery with Substantial Bodily Harm, Destruction of Property- Attorney appointed in case, not guilty plea entered on defendants behalf, set for hearing on March calendar.

Defendant – Jesse Stevens
Charges – Malicious Destruction of Private Property- Attorney appointed, not guilty plea entered by court, hearing scheduled for March calendar.

Defendant – Raymond White
Charges – Harassment- Defendant currently serving five years in the Nevada Department of Corrections. No bail warrant was issued for arrest upon release.

Defendant – Tina Robbins
Charges – Failure to Use Turn Signal- Defendant failed to appear in court, warrant issued, bail totaling $500.

Defendant – Alberto Morales
Charges – DUI- Pled guilty to DUI. Ordered: 19 days in the Clark County Detention Center, credit for three days serviced 16 days remaining. Defendant traded 8 days for community service leaving him with 8 days to serve and 190 hours of community service to complete. Defendant must attend AA Meetings and pay $1,192 in fines. Status check scheduled for April calendar.

Defendant – Nancy Tillahash
Charges – DUI Second Offense- Case called off for January calendar as defendant was unable to make it for court date. Scheduled for trial on March calendar.

Defendant – Jesus Marcial
Charges – Reckless Driving- Pled down to Speeding – 21 mph over limit. Ordered to attend and complete traffic school and pay $1,000 in fines. Status check scheduled for March calendar.
