Sharon Elaine Gilmore, age 71, died Monday, April 7, 2008 in St. Geroge, Utah. She was born July 2, 1936 in Evanston, Wyoming to Herman Conley and Maxine Rickert Knight. On April 10, 1976 she married Junior Ray Gilmore in Elko, Nevada.
Sharon grew up in Nebraska, she lived a short time in Missouri before moving to Wyoming. As an adult, she raised her family in many different areas of the United States. In 1995, she settled in Overton, Nevada. She enjoyed cooking, writing poetry, gardening and watching birds. Her greatest pleasure came from being with family.
Survivors include her husband J.R. of Overton; two sons and three daughters: Danny Janak of N. Platte, NE; Gale Gomez of Ashland, NE; Kelly (Dan) Gleason of Tooele, UT; John (Karen) Moody of Layton, UT; Misty (Todd) Geary of Evanston, WY; stepchildren: Shayne (Linda) Gilmore of Evanston, WY; Vicki (Kalei) Bright of Evanston, WY; Daina Kadrmas of Buffalo, WY; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one brother and two sisters: Kenneth (Merced) Knight of Florida; Janet (Fred) Richter of Shelby, NE and Tamara (Ron) Lewis of Shelby, NE. She was preceded in death by one son, Scott Arthur Moody.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 11, 2008 at 3 p.m. at the Virgin Valley Mortuary. Arrangements under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary.
