Edna Mae Popplewell was born to Daniel and Lizzie Hammack in Indiana. She was the second youngest of 12 and spent her childhood on her family farm in Kentucky. Strong minded and compassionate, she lived her life according to her own terms. She enjoyed her youth, loved her family, and embraced those around her.
She married in 1950, started a family in 1957 with the birth of her first daughter followed by the birth of twins in 1961. After her divorce, she worked as a waitress up until her retirement, when she moved to Overton in 1996. |
