Utah Artist To Display Sketches At Lost City Museum | |
Moapa Valley Progress Published May 27, 2009 Lost City Museum will feature sketches of self-taught artist, Leigh Neibaur through the month of June. Originally from a farm in southeastern Idaho, Neibaur now calls La Verkin, Utah his home. “Having difficulty with some colors he perfected his skills in pen and ink sketching,” said museum attendant Terri Wade. “Neibaur has learned to express art with his own unique style and technique.” It was partly due to the encouragement of local renowned artists of the Washington, Utah Gallery that he recently began displaying his works. He was encouraged after placing third in the “People’s Choice” drawing exhibition at the Mesquite, Nevada Fine Arts Center and First Place in the Spring Salon Art Festival also in Mesquite. Working in Zion National Park, Leigh draws his inspiration from people that he meets and from the scenery that surrounds him. The Lost City Museum is open daily, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Regular admission charge is $3.00 for adults age 18 and over, $2.00 for anyone over 65. Children and members enter free.
