The newly renovated Overton McDonalds passed its final health inspection on Tuesday morning, September 21 and was able to open as scheduled last week.
The reopening of the local restaurant began a period of special pricing which continues through October 1. Friday, September 24 brought 99 cent hamburger Happy Meals for local kids. On that day alone, Paice reported that 385 hamburger Happy Meals were made and sold at the local restaurant. The 99-cent Big Mac day held on Sunday saw the sale of 552 burgers.
To add to the celebration, the store brought the Ronald McDonald show to Overton. The star, Ronald McDonald treated enthralled local kids to great entertainment.
The young audience was delighted as Ronald juggled, told jokes and did tricks for the kids. At the end of the two hour show Ronald gave out raffle tickets to all children who were there. Football, Frisbees, golf clubs, and other prizes were given as raffle winnings. A grand prize kids bicycle was awarded to Kaylee Ukitis, whose name was drawn. At the end, every kid in attendance had the opportunity to shake Ronald’s hand and receive a chocolate chip cookie.
