A Gala Reception was held at which HealthInsight’s Liz Gorka presented an award to MVRH Chief Executive Officer, Kapua Conley.
“I am proud to present this award to Mesa View Regional Hospital, this award is well deserved,” said Gorka.
“I accept this award but cannot take credit for this award,” said Conley.
Conley recognized the entire staff of MVRH as the “back bone and heart beat” of the hospital and the reason for earning this award a second year in a row.
Gorka explained the criteria in measuring a hospital for HealthInsight award. Hospitals report on 20 Quality of Care Measures. The hospitals participate on a voluntary basis and are required to participate in all 20 areas. MVRH ranked in the top 4th of Nevada hospitals, 88% nationwide which means that Mesa View Regional Hospital is ranked in the top 12% in the nation.
Conley explained that the development of high quality standards has been a major focus since the hospital opened its doors.
“My predecessor Sue Conley worked hard to implement these high quality standards and it has been my job, with the support of a great leadership team, to oversee and enhance these standards,” he said.
In attendance was Mesquite Mayor Susan Holecheck who took a moment to express her appreciation to Conley and his team.
“If this hospital is was not here you would feel the impact, it’s just that simple, and we owe gratitude to every doctor, nurse, therapist, CRNA and Kapua (Conley) for loving our community,” she explained.
