The members of the MV Art Guild will take on another ambitious schedule for 2011.
Beginning in January the dedicated artists lead off with another Children’s Art Workshop beginning January 15 at the Library in Overton. This class will be held once a week from 1:00 – 4:00 pm on Saturdays for four weeks. It is free to students ages 12 to 18.
On Thursday, January 27, Diane Coonradt will offer a Drawing Class (colored pencil) from 10 am to 3 pm at the Old Logandale School. The cost is $35 for members and $40 for non-members. Students should bring their own supplies (although some will be available); and also a sack lunch.
On February 24, Lynn Rigoni will present a Watercolor Workshop at the Old Logandale School from 10 am – 3 pm. The cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
As these class sizes are limited for the above events, interested parties should contact 397-8789 to register.
Paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, stained glass, hand thrown pottery and decorated gourds will be exhibited at the second annual Spring Show and Sale on March 11-12 at the Old Logandale School. This event will be open to local Moapa Valley non-member artists. Lynn Rigoni, Janet Trobough and Colleen Webb make up the Show Committee. To be a part of this exciting event, artists should call 397-6444 to register.
Summer workshop plans are currently under discussion as well as plans for the ever popular and growing Pomegranate Festival. This year the Festival will be held in early November and will be under the guidance of the MV Art Guild’s Executive Committee.
Gab and Dab Sessions are currently held every Thursday from 10am to 12 pm at the Old Logandale School.
