Drilling Team Takes Soil Samples for Sewer Project
Drilling rigs were working up and down the valley this week taking soil samples for the proposed sewer system. GC Wallace, a consulting firm for Clark County, used the results of the soil tests as part of their preliminary design recommendations. The preliminary cost for a valley wide sewer system is estimated at roughly $160 million.

MVHS Football Star Will Play for UNLV
Brian Adams, MVHS football standout, was recruited for a full-ride scholarship to UNLV, after leading the Pirates to a State Championship this year.
“Ever since I was a little kid, I wanted to play college football. This is like a dream come true.” Adams stated.
Adams had not only gained respect on the field, but also in the classroom. An honor student, Adams had also been politically active in the student body, serving as Vice-President.

From Progress: March 6, 1996
American Legion Oratorical Contest
Heather Robison, Kim Hardy, and Kenna Dalley all participated in the annual oratorical contest sponsored by American Legion Post 75. The assigned theme was “What the Constitution Means to Me”. Each participant was required to give a memorized oration of eight to ten minutes. The first place winner was Heather Robison, second place was Kim Hardy, and runner-up was Kenna Dalley.
