Who helped us? I mean with the Democracy and the Capitalism and the free enterprise and all. Who came and held our forefather’s hands and taught them how to set up a society that is both envied and copied all over the world? Who?
Well, I’ll tell you. Nobody did. Our founders took notice when the more enlightened compatriots had something to say. They knew the good when they saw it, and heard it, because they had been stifled by the bad, and oppressed by the ugly. They let themselves be inspired by their Creator and ours, feeling secure that they would be led to do conscientious works and enact righteous ruling.
We really need to go back to their original documents, and realize they still apply.
These little countries who ask us to help them to set up democracies cannot be helped. If they can’t do it for themselves, then they are not ready.
