OPEN FORUM: Dumbing Down The American Public

By SCOTT KING

One of the first things that Adolf Hitler did upon seizing power (or one of the ways he accomplished it…your choice) was to convince the citizens of Germany that knowledge and books were not a necessary part for their plan. The people responded by going out and destroying the books and getting rid of those people with advanced learning (unless of course they were part of the development of the Third Reich). Hitler knew, as history had proved in times past, that an ignorant people were an easy people to control and manipulate.

Fast forward to today. We are so much more knowledgeable and would never allow “book burning” to happen. Those that desire to control people know this and have changed tactics.

Have you ever wondered why the school district has such a high budget for school books? The books we used in schools I remember lasted 5-6 years. Have math problems changed? Has reading changed? Has history changed? On the surface a person would say no. But if you take the time to read these new books you may find that the answer to all three is yes. There is an agenda by some to dumb down America, for by so doing they can more easily manipulate us.

Example: “Man made global warming”. Look in the texts of many school books and it is referenced in places you would not expect. All with the intent of telling us that man is bad for the environment, man is the cause of global disasters (except those that believe George W. Bush is to blame for these things) and by buying into this theory we must buy into the cure. The cure? Carbon credits, windmills, electric cars (where do they get electricity from) stop using fossil fuels (except of course by those who travel the world in private jets to tell us we must save the planet) stop driving, stop reproducing, what the heck, just stop living.

Research will reveal that these ideas are making a few people very rich (usually those making the laws) and slowly taking away our freedoms.

Several weeks ago Dr. Moses encouraged all to take time to read the Constitution of the United States, something that is not always taught in today’s schools. The United States Constitution has been the shining beacon for the entire world to see and every free country in the world today has used that document as a basis for their own freedoms.

Unfortunately there are those within our own borders that see the Constitution as “out of date” or in need of an “overhaul”.

If you take the time to read it you will not find any words or phrase about the “separation of church and state”. Those words do not exist. Tell that to any person under the age of 45 and you will find a vast majority of them will not believe you.

But a short trip back to the sixties you will find a very liberal Supreme Court declaring the separation of church and state. After almost 200 years of scrutiny these justices reinterpreted the words of our founding fathers. While you are taking that trip also study the escalation of violence, the downward spiral of education (as measured by grades) and the never ending plea for more money for schools (let’s face it–for unions).

Critical Thinking has become a vital skill in our society: in a phrase “Learn how to learn”. Do not accept what one is told on face value. Ask questions, do research, be an independent thinker. You never know, maybe I am not telling the truth. But you will have to study to find out.
