People crowded in to the FIT Physical Therapy Grand Opening event held on Thursday, November 15 to see the clinic’s new, larger facility.

Members of the Moapa Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors were on hand to help cut the ceremonial red ribbon with golden scissors and welcome the public into the new facility.

In recent months, FIT owners Daren Marchant and Doug Giles have made a few changes to the business for better ease and customer care. When the opportunity arose to expand by moving to a new location, they took it.

The clinic was previously located in a smaller space in the same building as Overton Medical Center. It was formerly known as Overton Physical Therapy but Marchant and Giles also saw improvement in changing the name to FIT Physical Therapy.

“We thought changing it to three bold letters would be easier for our customers to remember,” Giles said.

The new name also symbolizes the priority the clinic has to help people recover from injuries as well as improving their general physical condition, Marchant said.

During the Open House, Chamber President Carol Bishop told the owners of FIT that she was looking forward to working with them and glad they had expanded their facility. She said that it was important to bring access to a fitness center to the community.

Besides the beautifully catered appetizers, FIT also provided a drawing. Prizes were available, including gift cards from places like Olive Garden, and Applebees.

But the many locals didn’t just come for the food and prizes, they came to support FIT Physical Therapy and appreciate the care they take in their customers.

“We are really excited,” Giles said. “The valley doesn’t have a fitness area and we look forward to providing that.”
