The local Radio Shack, located within True Value/Home Hardware in Overton, has made some changes to its business. In September they store moved its inventory out of the room located to the rear of the store, and put it on the shelves within True Value itself.
According to store owner Randy Tobler, the change will allow customers to more easily access the Radio Shack merchandise without making a special trip to the back room.
The store has kept the same staff to manage the area and hasn’t downsized the merchandise, Tobler said. It has simply been moved it out front.
Tobler explained that the store will still offer great holiday gift ideas from the Radio Shack aisles to local shoppers; just as it has for the many years it has been open.
“We have had customers that are really loyal and faithful. We just want people to know that we are still here and still carry electronics and ink,” Tobler said.
The change helped to clear up retail space for True Value to expand its pets and equine department. It also allowed the fabrics and crafting department to move into the back room where Radio Shack was previously located.
