Fourth of July in December? Committee Searches for 2013 Theme

Christmas is around the corner and we are enjoying some of the best weather of the year. There is a group of people however that is dreaming of triple digit temperatures and planning for one of Moapa Valley’s best community events.

The Fourth of July Committee with the help of the Rotary Club are busy planning next year’s event. They are calling out to the community for help.

The Committee is offering a prize to anyone who can come up with next year’s Fourth of July theme. The theme is the corner stone of the event and helps set the mood for the whole celebration.

Pick up an entry form from the Moapa Valley Progress office at 2885 N. Moapa Valley Blvd in Logandale in the same building as Foremost Realty. Then return it by December 28 with your idea for the theme. The Rotary Club will decide the winner and make the announcement in January.

All full time and part time residents are eligible for the contest. So come up with a theme and have a chance at the following cash rewards: 1st place $70.00; 2nd place $50.00; and 3rd place $30.00.

Oh and the legal stuff: All entries become the property of the 2013 Moapa Valley Independence Day Celebration and may be used in any or all media or material relating to the 2013 event and here after. One entry per person. All ages welcome. All entrants must have signature of entrant or guardian. Winners may be asked to show proof of residency. Contest will run until 12/28/2012 at 4:00 p.m. All entries must be at the Progress office by that time. Forms are available at the Progress office or online at mvprogress.com and they will be distributed at community events through December. Entrants can drop them off or email to progress2@mvdsl.com.
