The renown Olate Dogs will be performing a grounds act at the Clark County Fair this year.

The Clark County Fair is just around the corner. The funnel cakes, crazy carnival rides, and rodeo will be in town April 11-14. And don’t forget all the free live entertainment that can be enjoyed as folks stroll around the grounds.

This year the Clark County Fair is excited to announce that the Olate Dogs will be part of the ground acts. All those “America’s Got Talent” fans will know exactly who these performers are. The Olate Dogs competed on the show on national television and won the prize.

Richard Olate and his son Nicholas know how to put on an energetic and entertaining performance with their troupe of trained dogs. These dogs can walk and jump on their hind legs, push a cart, go down a slide, and balance on a rolling cylinder. All the while the audience ooo’s and ahh’s over the amazing training and talent of the dogs. The grand finale of one act is a dog doing a back flip.

When Richard was 12 he used his love for dogs to begin training them for entertainment. Olate toured through Chile showing his troupe off in schools and small circuses. He and his dogs came to America in 1989.

How did this big sensation get so lucky to come here to the Clark County Fair? According to Event Director, Denise Robison, the Olate’s are getting a show set up in Las Vegas on the Strip and are available during that time. They will be performing all 4 days of the fair, Thursday and Friday they will show at 12:30, 3:30, and 5:30. Saturday the times change to 12:00, 3:00, and 5:00. Sunday the first showing will be at 1:00 and the last two follow Saturday’s schedule of 3:00 and 5:00.

Robison has been able to secure several acts to come to the Fair for loads of entertainment. Once again the Swifty Swine Pig Races will be around, and a new kid’s activity called Puzzlemania will thrill young thinking minds.

On the Midway Stage there will be Jeff Martin the Comedian Magician as well as all sorts of dancing by the young locals of Moapa Valley. This year Gwen Sabastian will be singing at a free concert on the Plaza Stage following the rodeo on Friday and Saturday nights. The Plaza will also host Eclipse a cappella group, Tyzen hypnosis, DSB America’s Favorite Tribute to Journey, and Michael DuBois solo circus act.
