A western-themed stage was filled with the beauty and poise on Saturday for the Clark County Fair and Rodeo Queen/Princess pageant. The contestants had competed throughout the day in various events including modeling, speeches, personal interviews, impromptu questions, and horsemanship.
“It has been a great day, and everyone is impressed with the quality of contestants this year,” said Mandee Davis, chair of the Clark County Rodeo Queen and Princess Selection Committee.
As the contestants walked around the stage one by one in the closing ceremony, Master of Ceremonies Kaitlyn Mendleton read a short biography of each one.
“These are amazing girls!” Mendleton said. “ The choice is a tough call for the judges. The year’s judges have been phenomenal. They have done a great job!”
First individual awards for personality, appearance, speech and horsemanship were given.
Then the princess royalty was announced. Madison Bush was the princess winner. Bailey Bunker was the first attendant and Gracie Ann Erickson was the second attendant.
Next the queen contestants lined the stage. They were also awarded individual prizes for the top contenders in personality, appearance, speech and horsemanship. The queen royalty was announced. Victoria Magoon was selected as the Clark County Rodeo Queen with Rebecca Dunn as her first attendant and McKenzie Bush as her second attendant.
“The girls were all wonderful,” said Mandee Davis. “It has been an amazing day! And we have had lots of volunteer help to put on the event.”
This pageant is sponsored each year by the Clark County Fair and Rodeo and is coordinated by a committee that plans events and selects the judges. The competition is offered to girls from Clark, Nye, and Lincoln counties. The princess competition is for girls from the ages of 12 to 16 and the queen competition is for young women from 17 to 24.
