A Meet and Greet event featuring Clark County judicial candidates will be held in Mesquite on Saturday May 3 at Veteran’s Memorial Park. Sponsored by the Mesquite Republican Women and the Friends of the Founding Fathers, the event will begin at 10:00 am when candidates will be able to informally meet and greet attendees.
A more formal program will start at 11:00 am.
“Everyone who wants to be informed before voting should attend, as this will give an insight to those that operate our Justice system,” said Sue Smith of the Mesquite Republican Women.
The candidates in attendance will be those running for the long list of non-partisan judicial offices in Clark County on the June and November Ballots. If more that two candidates file for a judgeship, they will appear on the June primary ballot. The two candidates getting the most votes in June will run-off in November.
“Most voters don’t have any chance to meet or even talk to the candidates before voting,” Smith said. “Here is a chance for local residents to meet and even talk to our judicial candidates.”
Each candidate will address the group, answer questions and pass out their campaign information.
The candidates will be available to mix and mingle with people and answer any questions.
Veteran’s Memorial Park is located on Hillside Dr. east of Sandhill near Smith’s Market.
