Moapa Valley Progress
The tradition continues as the Moapa Valley community choir and orchestra join together to present Handel’s “Messiah” on Sunday, December 21 at 7 P.M. at the Old Logandale School. But it is more than a tradition – it is an opportunity for local musicians and community members to explore the story of that first Christmas as captured by G. F. Handel in 1741 in his beloved and long enduring oratorio.
The community is invited to take a moment from the hustle and bustle and to join in this musical event either as the audience or as a member of the choir as they sing about “The Glory of the Lord.” We will wonder of the “Darkness that Covered the Earth” when
“Suddenly an Angel Appeared” and announced that “A Child Had Been Born.” “Hallelujah!” We rejoice together and welcome this Christmas Season and its promise of joy, happiness and love.
Gaye Nelson will once again be leading this performance. All Valley singers are invited to join the choir in bringing to the community this beloved music and story. Final rehearsal will be held at the Old Logandale School on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 9 A.M.
