Brittan McGhee
Brittan McGhee, age 32, passed away August 14, 2016. Brittan McCall Cooper was born to Nancy Evelyn Cooper June 11, 1984. She was a happy little redhead. She spent her first years growing up at her grandparents home in Logandale, Nevada. In 1994 her mother married Lyle Kent Jones who adopted her as his own.
She loved sports and clogging and was very good at them. She graduated from Moapa Valley High School where she played all sports but favored volleyball and softball. She was on several teams that won State Championships. She attended college at Rangeley Colorado on a full scholarship playing both volleyball and softball.
She began getting extreme head aches and was unable to complete her first year. She always wanted a college degree but because of health issues was never able to get one. She met and married Nickolas Lynch but later divorced and moved to the Salt Lake area. She befriended and married Roshonda Jalisa McGhee, who basically saved her life. They moved to Ogden and bought a home. She loved photography and recently started a business she called Ginger Snaps. In August 2016, Brittan passed away donating her organs to save lives.
She was preceded in death by her brother Hunter M. Jones, her grandparents Bill and Venetta Cooper and her mother Nancy Evelyn Jones.
She is survived by her spouse Rashonda McGhee of Ogden UT; her natural father Alan Peterson (Raquel) of St. George UT; her adopted dad Lyle Jones of Overton NV; and 7 half brothers and sisters: Jamie Jones and Staci Jones of Mesquite NV, Kent Jones (Lindy) of CA, Elder Dylan Jones currently serving in the Bismark North Dakota Mission, Ashleigh (Erick) Foy, Cassanera (Dan) Jacobson and Christoffer (Ashlyn) Peterson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Overton LDS Chapel. Viewing will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
