Criminal court was held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 with Judge Lanny Waite presiding.
Jaime Jimenez-Magana- Charges: Battery/Domestic Violence. Defense asked for continuance. Set for 8/2/2017.
Alexander Perez- Charges: Driving without a valid license; Basic Speeding violation. Defendant plead to driving without license. Speeding charge was amended to illegal parking violation. Received total of $950 in fines and fees. Continued to 8/30/2017 for status check.
Christopher Steen- Charges: Battery Domestic Violence. Matter set for trial on 9/6/2017.
Brandon Collmar– Status Check on Charges: DUI. All conditions met. Case Closed
Buster Winkler- Status check on charges: Engage in contractor business without valid license. Defendant had made a total of $1200 in payments toward restitution total of $4400. Continued to 8/30 for status check.
Todd Kelson– Status check on Charges: DUI. Defendant had made significant progress on conditions, including serving 13 days in jail. But the judge had received a police report that the day after his release from jail, police had found him and two of his friends in a vehicle with a bong of marijuana and an assortment of illegal prescription pills.
Defendant offered to take a drug test. But the judge pointed out that the issue was more complex than that, in that it involved the disobeying the court injunction to stay out of trouble.
Judge ordered a drug analysis to be completed and continued the matter to 8/2/2017. Judge said that chances are very good that more jail time would be imposed; just how much would depend on the results of the drug test.
Kari Jacobson– Charges: DUI. Defense attorney said that they had expected a resolution to the matter but no negotiation was reached. Asked to reset the matter for trial. Continued to 8/30/2017.
Dennis Horne– Charges: Multiple charges including Burglary, Petit Larceny, Possession of Stolen Property. Defendant in custody, transported from Nevada State Penitentiary. Defendant waived preliminary hearing. Matter bound over to 8th District Court.
Amber Solano– Charges: Battery/Domestic Violence. Defendant appeared in custody. Case dates back to 2014. A long string of instances were cited of court dates – both in MV Justice Court as well as in Las Vegas – where Defendant had failed to show up; warrants issued in each one. Defendant had been arrested on 7/1/2017. Matter was set for status check on 7/19/2017. Defendant to remain in custody to that point. On 7/19, Defendant was given 16 days credit for time served and the case was closed pursuant to negotiations in the Las Vegas court case.
Michael Tognani– Charges: Burglary. Defendant appeared in custody. Matter set for preliminary hearing on 7/19/2017. On 7/19, the case was continued to 8/2/2017 and Defendant was to remain in custody.
Bridget Berovsek: Charges: Battery/Domestic Violence. Defendant in custody. Public defender appointed. Defendant to be released on own recognizance with condition to have no contact with the alleged victim. Set for trial on 8/2/2017.
Jarom Chalfant– Status Check on Charges: Theft, Petit Larceny. New Charge: Trespassing. Defendant had done nothing towards conditions on earlier charges and had not stayed out of trouble, picking up a new trespass charge. Judge ordered Defendant to be taken into custody on Contempt of Court charge to serve 25 days. Given credit for time served on paying fines. Still will owe $100 in restitution. Continued to 8/2/2017 for status check.
Michael Martin– Charges: Battery/Domestic Violence. Public Defender appointed. Set for trial on 8/30/2017.
Adam Allen– Charge: Disorderly Conduct. Defendant not present in court. Warrant issued.
Brock Williams– Charge: Domestic Violence. Public Defender appointed. Set for trial 8/30/2017.
Jeremy Comparoni.- Status check on Charge: Assault with use of Deadly Weapon. Defendant had paid fines from money borrowed from parents. Had failed, once again, to get a drug evaluation and complete impulse control counseling. With repeated allowances over many months, Judge said that he was tired of hearing excuses. Defendant taken into custody with the six month sentence imposed. Case closed.
Donavan Garnes– Charge: Trespassing. Defendant pled to the charge. $200 fine imposed, plus an order to stay out of trouble for six months. Continued to 8/2/2017 for status check.
Jessie Riggs– Charge: Petit Larceny. State not proceeding. Case dismissed.
Donald Allen– Charge: Failure by Convicted Person to Register. State not proceeding. Case dismissed.
Amanda Dwelley– Charge: Battery/Domestic Violence. Public Defender appointed. Set for trial on 8/30/2017.
Joshua Hammons– Charge: Battery/Domestic Violence. Defendant said he had hired an attorney, but counsel not present. Judge instructed that the attorney must confirm counsel with the court. Not Guilty plea entered and matter set for trial on 8/2/2017.
Jesus Ramos, Sr– Charge: Battery/Domestic Violence. Trial date reset for 10/25/2017.
Dennis Lovelady– Charge: Battery/Domestic Violence. State could not serve the alleged victim with summons. Deputy DA asked the court not to proceed with the matter. Case dismissed.
Jesus Ramos, Jr.- Charge: Battery/Domestic Violence. Defendant had spent several weeks in an inpatient rehabilitation program in Baja, Mexico and had completed that program. Because of his absence, had not been able to pay fines or complete counseling requirements yet. Matter continued to 8/30/2017 for requirements to be met.
Carl Tomlinson– Status Check on Charges: Possession of Controlled Substance. Defendant had not yet completed required drug evaluation and counseling. Matter set for 8/2/2017 for status check.
Julie Nusbaum– Status Check on Charges: Battery with use of deadly weapon; DUI. Defendant had completed a total of 77 hours of community service. Still had 53 left to complete. Matter continued to 8/30/2017.
Kory Paul– Status Check on Charges:Battery/Domestic Violence. Defendant not present in court. No contact had been made. Warrant issued.

Danny Nusbaum– Charges: DUI, Open Alcohol Container in Vehicle, Driving w/ suspended license, Driving without proof of Insurance. Trial set for 8/2/2017.
