The Southern Nevada Symphony Orchestra (SNSO) will be performing in concert on Saturday, April 14 at 7:30 pm in the Casablanca Resort Showroom.
This concert will offer a great evening of music for the audience. The 70 piece orchestra, made up of musicians from the Virgin and Moapa Valleys as well as from St. George and Las Vegas, will be performing a piece composed specifically for the SNSO. Also featured in Saturday’s concert will be a talented Las Vegas violinist.
Composer Will Rhoden has created a piece especially for the SNSO entitled “John”. This programmatic composition tells the Biblical story of John the Baptist as recorded in Chapter 3 of the Gospel of St. Luke. This will be the premiere of this special composition.
Professional violinist Mark Deramo, of Las Vegas, will also be featured playing Beethoven’s acclaimed and beloved Violin Concerto in D major. This concerto, written in 1806, still wows audiences with its sheer display of beauty, musicality and grandeur.
Deramo has been playing the violin since the age of five and his musical endeavors led him to settle in Las Vegas, NV, in 2014. He currently teaches music and orchestra at Swainston Middle School in North Las Vegas. Deramo is a proud member of the Henderson Symphony Orchestra and the American Band (the Sparrows).
Tickets for the concert are available at the front desk of the CasaBlanca Resort Casino.
