Overton Power District No. 5 is advising motorists of an upcoming temporary closure of Interstate 15 in Mesquite. Both northbound and southbound directions will be closed for a period of time next week from mile marker 120 to mile marker 122.
The closure will take place overnight on Tuesday, June 12 from 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM and again on Wednesday, June 13, from 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM.
The interstate will be closed while the District is replacing a power pole holding a 69-kV power line that crosses over this busy section of highway.
During the closure motorists on I-15 will be rerouted to Mesquite Boulevard.
OPD officials said that the days and hours of this work may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other unforeseen delays.
