Runners from 28 states; as well as from Argentina, Sweden, Canada, and the Philippines; will line up together on Saturday, Nov. 16 to compete in the Valley of Fire Backcountry Race. The Race consists of several extreme running events including a 1-mile run, 5K, 10K, half-marathon, marathon, and even a 50K. This year’s Race marks the third year that sisters Heidi Dove and Aubrey Stadler, owners of Triple Dare Running Company, have directed it.

“I ran the race twice and knew I had to have it,” said Dove. “My sister and I bought it three years ago.”
Always the entrepreneur, Dove decided to take her passion for running and turn it into a business. Stadler loved the idea. Their first race consisted of runners running three separate races in three different locations in just over 24 hours.

Heidi and Aubrey lived in Logandale for many years. “We attended the Clark County Fair and we ended up moving here when I was 15 and Aubrey was 11,” said Heidi. “We went to school here and graduated from Moapa Valley High School. I even started my teaching career here.”

Heidi is the mother of four kids. She is a GATE teacher in Las Vegas and has competed in four 100-mile races, numerous ultra-marathons, and two 100-mile bike races. She completed the World’s Toughest Mudder, multiple sprint and Olympic triathlons, and many other obstacle course races. She is currently training for another 100-mile race in January.

Aubrey loves the outdoors, especially hiking, fishing, and camping with her children. She has completed a couple of Tough Mudders and is currently training for another one. Aubrey is the mother of five kids, and is a substitute teacher in Las Vegas.

“Our favorite thing about Valley of Fire Backcountry is camping and hanging with other runners at the campfire the night before the race,” said Heidi. “We love to see the looks on the faces of the runners as they complete their goals. Being in the beauty of the red rocks is the best.”

So, lace up those running shoes and join these energetic and enthusiastic sisters on November 16 for an adventure you will never forget. The trails are breathtaking, and every runner will walk away with a custom race shirt, unique race medal, new friends, and a lifetime of memories. Check them out at www.tripledareruns.com.
