worried,” Paschal said. “But then the word seemed to get out and business really picked up fast for the rest of the week.”
Paschal said that the restaurant served over 160 burgers in just one day on Thursday. “I had to hurry and put in another order for the weekend,” he said. The old building has undergone a complete transformation since the days of Calamity’s. Slight and Paschal have been working on the place since August to get it fully renovated for the opening. “We completely gutted out the interior,” Paschal said. “We’ve replaced all of the furnishings, cabinets and counters and we have designed and built a completely new kitchen.” The restaurant is open for breakfast at 7:00 a.m. Breakfast is served until 11:00 a.m. Then the lunch and dinner crowd starts. The restaurant offers daily lunch and dinner specials. “Our daily specials are great,” Paschal said. “I’ve focused them on our barbecue menu; things like chicken and ribs.” The restaurant stays open until 9:00 p.m. nightly. Then a subtle transformation takes place and the bar goes into operation. The bar offers its patrons nightly activities including karaoke night on Friday nights. With the first week behind him, Paschal is busy making plans for the official grand opening event. “We figured that since the Super Bowl is right around the corner, we would make our grand opening be a big Super Bowl party,” he said. The official grand opening will be held on Super Bowl Sunday, February 1. The bar and restaurant has several huge high definition television screens that are sure to make for great football viewing on the big day. |
