Mesa View Hospital Announces New CEO

Published June 2, 2010

Healthcare executive Kirkpatrick (Kapua) Conley will bring a wealth of hospital administrative and management experience when he assumes the chief executive officer role at Mesa View Regional Hospital on June 1.

Conley was most recently assistant chief executive officer of a 144-bed facility in Oro Valley, Arizona. Previously, he was administrator of business operations for the Genitourinary Cancer Center of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Conley’s experience also includes work with integrated healthcare systems and information technology consulting. He has a master’s in health administration from Tulane School of Public Health in New Orleans, Louisiana.

“I look forward to working with Mesa View’s outstanding leaders, physicians, employees and volunteers,” said Conley. “They have created a culture centered on patient satisfaction and quality, and the opportunity to lead a group of individuals with such passion for providing exceptional care is inspiring.”

“Kapua’s education and experience combined with his enthusiasm make him a great fit for our CEO position,” said Dan Wright, chairman of the hospital’s board of trustees.

“Kapua has displayed many great leadership qualities in previous positions – qualities that will be a benefit to our hospital. The future will be bright at Mesa View Regional Hospital with Kapua Conley at the helm.”

Dr. Alan Jones, chief of the hospital’s medical staff, said “the medical staff is happy to welcome Kapua to Mesa View and the Mesquite community. While we are sad to see Sue leave, Kapua will bring the same enthusiasm and dedication to our local hospital. We look forward to working with him to continue the excellent care provided at Mesa View Regional Hospital.”

Conley is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. A former Tulane University varsity football scholarship recipient, he is also an inductee in the Tulane University Athletic Hall of Fame.

Conley is unrelated to former CEO Sue Conley.

Details about a welcome reception for Conley will be announced as soon as plans are finalized.
