The 2011 Cinderella Pageant was held on Thursday evening, April 7 as part of the Clark County Fair. Normally, this event is held at the Midway Stage at the Logandale Fairgrounds, but this year it was moved to the Old Logandale School because of high winds Thursday that threatened to bring down the Midway Stage tent.
The Cinderella Pageant is a scholarship program for young girls, offering opportunities for recognition and accomplishment. Fifteen girls competed in the pageant this year.
Each girl was judged in five different stages to determine who scored highest in each age group category.
The first category was Photogenic. This was the judge’s opinion of the contestant at first glance.
Next the contestants participated in an interview with judges. Here the judges got to learn a little about the contestants.
Following this was the Modeling category. The girls dressed first in casual, then formal attire.
Finally, came the Talent category. Contestants showed their abilities doing anything from singing to dancing to reciting a poem to hula-hooping.
Winners of the 2011 Cinderella Pageant included Mia Sosa in the Cinderella Baby division, Mia Rhude as the Cinderella Infant, Kevyn Rhude as Cinderella Tot, Grace Rhude as Cinderella Miniature, Abigail Wallace as Cinderella Miss, and Chelseana Brown as Cinderella Teen.
Each girl received $75 to travel to the State Pageant in June where they will be competing again.
