General Surgeon Jerome (Jerry) Guanciale, DO, FACOS, has recently joined Mesa View Regional Hospital as an independent member of the medical staff. He is a Board Certified General Surgeon who moved to Mesquite from Mohave, Arizona.
Dr. Guanciale received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Pennsylvania State University, and his Doctor of Osteopathy from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed internships and residency in general surgery at Grandview Hospital and Medical Center in Dayton, OH. He currently is a Journal Review Member of the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery and National Board Examiner for the American Board of Osteopathic Surgeons.
Having more than 25 years of experience, Guanciale has provided a range of surgical services including: gastroenterology, endoscopy, colonoscopy, pediatric, breast, hernia repair and gall bladder. At Mesa View his focus will mainly be on endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures.
According to Guanciale, spending time with patients and getting to know them is important in his approach to medicine. When asked why he chose to move to Mesquite, Guanciale said, “I like the critical access hospitals. Because most are in a rural setting, it gives you a better opportunity to serve a community that usually has a difficult time recruiting specialty physicians.”
“Dr. Guanciale is an accomplished and experienced general surgeon,” said Mesa View Regional Hospital CEO, Patty Holden. “We are pleased to welcome him to Mesquite as an essential addition to our medical staff and to the community.”
Likewise, Dr. Guanciale said, “The staff has been very welcoming so far. They have done their best to acquire important instruments and devices that have allowed me to offer more surgical services.”
Dr. Guanciale is now seeing new patients and can be reached at Mesa View Medical Group, 702-346-1700, 1301 Bertha Howe Avenue Suite #8, Mesquite. Or visit: www.Mesaviewmedical.com.
