New Local Agent Joins The Foremost Realty Team

Foremost Realty in Logandale has added a new face to its lineup of quality real estate agents. Local resident Sara McDermott has joined the Foremost team.
“We are pleased to have Sara on board,” said Foremost Realty broker/owner Janet Marshall. “We are looking forward to working with her. She has a good deal of experience as an agent in Utah and so we are anticipating that she will do well here in the Valley.”

For McDermott, it is not the first go-round in the real estate industry. She spent three successful years selling real estate in Milford, Utah, where she lived before moving to Moapa Valley in 2016. Those three years were a wild ride, she said. They were the boom years just before the big real estate crash of 2008.
“It was fun while it lasted and I really enjoyed the industry,” McDermott said in an interview with the Progress last week. “But when the market died off, the business just wasn’t there any more.”
Instead, at that time, she went right back to the fundamentals: being a stay-at-home mom.

McDermott and her husband, Jeramie have three children. The oldest son works and lives in Utah. Their second son is currently a junior at Moapa Valley High School where he plays on the baseball team. Their youngest daughter is a student at Mack Lyon Middle School where, McDermott said, she is “currently involved in everything from band to all kinds of sports.”

McDermott had a rather remarkable upbringing. Her early childhood was spent living on a boat in LaPaz on the Mexican Baja peninsula.

Her father was the captain of a large charter boat and fishing vessel owned by Carroll Shelby, the famous designer of the Shelby Cobra Mustang. McDermott has fond memories of Shelby himself.
“He was like another grandpa,” she said. “We always looked forward to his coming and we saw him quite often. He was just a really good guy.”

She also remembers meeting a long list of celebrities who came down to go out on the charter boat or to go out on fishing expeditions.
Later on, her family moved to St. George, Utah where she went to middle school. They finally ended up in Milford where she finished high school.

Being lovers of the outdoors, McDermott and her family have loved living in Moapa Valley for the past couple of years.
“We love to take advantage of the sun and all of the wonderful outdoor amenities that the Valley has to offer,” McDermott said. “I enjoy everything from fishing, boating, riding ATVs, playing golf, to just simply enjoying the beautiful weather that is in this area.”

McDermott said that her association, thus far, with the Foremost Realty team has been positive. “It has been really good,” she said. “It is a great office with great people to work with. I am so excited to be a part of the Foremost team and I look forward to helping people with their real estate needs.”
