Mesa View Home Care co-owner Teresa Bowen displays the HealthInsight Quality Award which the local company was recognized with last week.

Local home healthcare provider, Mesa View Home Care received a wonderful surprise… a national award. The HealthInsight Quality Award was awarded to only 9 out of 147 providers in Nevada and this year Mesa View Home Care was one of those. The award makes Mesa View a five-star Medicare company and in the top 10% of home care Services in the nation.

The HealthInsight Quality Award was started in 2004 by HealthInsight, a non-profit, community-based health care consulting company. The award program was launched to promote transparency in health care, according to a HealthInsight press release. It recognizes providers in nursing homes, hospitals, home health agencies and physician offices.

Mesa View Health Care co-owner Teresa Bowen, of Moapa Valley, said that she is proud of what the company has been able to accomplish since its founding 10 years ago..

Bowen started the company after working for a a time with a bigger company where she found herself frustrated with the red tape required in caring with patients. Bowen said she wanted to be able to do more for her patients.

She joined forces with co-owners: Mesquite physical therapists Travis and Ty Wakefield. Together they were able to start the Mesa View Home Care in partnership with Mesa View Physical Therapy.
The group started with the premise of treating patients like family, Bowen said. They had the idea that their nurses should go the extra mile in engagine in better communication with patients.

That idea has come to fruition, said Bowen. Mesa View now offers more services than the average home care service.
“Being a smaller company in a non-corporate environment, we can help patients better in things like regulating meds and communicating with their physicians,” Bowen said. “We are just able to provide better quality and better service!”

Mesa View Home Care currently has approximately 15 nurses, 10 therapists, 6 CNAs and 6 office staff as part of the company’s family and team.

Bowen reemphasized that Mesa View is a team effort. Every single member of the staff goes above and beyond to provide better care for their patients.
“Because we are community-based, the staff knows our patients as friends and family and thus really do care for them,” Bowen said.

Bowen expressed gratitude to those who has made the accomplishment possible including all the staff of Mesa View Home Care, the medical personnel and physicians who offer their services and time to help their patients as well as the community for their continued support.

If anyone in the community has questions or needs some help in Home Care, they are welcome to call the Mesa View office at (702) 346-2460. Evaluations are free, and Mesa View Home Care can help provide top notch service.
