Mesquite stores are prepping for the holidays and Rooster Cottage is no exception. The consignment store offers a selection of gently used furniture and home décor as well as a selection of Christmas boutique items.

In it’s eighth year of business the store has become a popular location for local shoppers to frequent both from the Moapa and Virgin Valleys.
“We take pride in the fact that we’ve become a big part of Mesquite,” store owner Carol Bulloch said. “We’ve built great relationships with our customers and consigners.”

According to Bulloch the store has a large inventory that changes from day to day. Many customers visit on a daily basis to checkout new arrivals, she said.
“We do gently used furniture, high end consignment and home décor,” Bulloch said.

The store also has a gift boutique with a great selection.
“We have the best selection of cards in Mesquite,” Bulloch added. “[We also have] jewelry, scarves, picture frames and unique gift items.”

The Rooster Cottage seasonal display includes Christmas mugs, ornaments and novelty gift items.
According to Rooster Cottage employee Angelina Noel, customers say that they like how things in the store change so much.
“We get new items in almost daily,” Noel said.

Over 90 percent of Rooster Cottage inventory is consignment, Noel added. “We rarely ever have the same item twice,” she said.

Furniture, décor, pictures and rugs are some of the items that are frequently found in the store.
“Everything is for sale except for a couple of display tables and shelves,” Noel said, adding that small home décor is one of their best-selling items.

Those who wish to sell an item through Rooster Cottage are encouraged to contact the owners for an appointment.
“(The owners) come look at people’s furniture at their houses or they can bring in pictures or email or text pictures,” Noel said. “We do take a lot of things, as long as they’re not outdated.”

The consignment contract is 50/50 with 50% of the final sale going to the consignor and 50% going to Rooster Cottage.

The store is located at 748 W Pioneer Blvd and can be reached by phone at (702) 346-5112 and online at www.roostercottage.com.
