Marston Perkins

Marston Lee Perkins died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at his home in Logandale, NV. He was born in Barstow California on September 12, 1943 to Robert Marston Perkins and Priscilla Stovall.

Marston grew up most of his life between Las Vegas and Overton, NV. As a kid he worked delivering the Sun Newspaper around the valley. At age 18 he went to work at the 7-Up Bottling Company. Shortly after in 1964 he joined the Clark County Fire Department and was very involved politically. Later in his career, he came down with San Joaquin Valley fever which caused him to medically retire in 1984. During this time he fought relentlessly to help pass the heart and lung bill for all fire fighters and police officers and became the first to retire under that bill.

Marston was first married to Julie Bruce Crawsley in 1963, and had two children: Tammy Lee of Las Vegas, NV (deceased) and Troy Robert Marston of Sparks, NV. In 1978 he married Deborah Phillipenas and together they had four children: Steven (Susan), Jeremy (Mariluz), Juston (Michelle) and Sarah (Antonio).
He was a wonderful grandfather to 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He is survived by his siblings: Sue Tanner of Overton, NV, Birdie Sinvard of Las Vegas, NV, Martin A. Windsor of Utah, Laurie Pedersen of Oregon, Mary McCreless of Florida, Sherrie Fox of Utah, Carolyn Clark of Mississippi, Barbara Jean Duvan of Nevada and Ben Perkins of Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jerry Perkins and sister Brenda Duvan, and daughter Tammy Lee Hunt.

“Sparky” made a huge impact on many lives and touched many hearts as much as those touched his. He was easy to love and was highly respected and sought out for his amazing wisdom. Sparky loved to hunt, fish, hike, garden, raise animals, and most of all spend time with his children and grandchildren.

As Sparky’s final wishes, and all loved ones are invited to join in celebrating his life on earth, this Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 12:00 noon, 330 Pirate Street, Logandale, NV. To put it in his words, “I want you to party for me!”
