Moapa Valley Justice Court Report (February 20, 2019)

Criminal court was held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 with Judge Gregor Mills presiding. All cases listed in the order called.

Colton Weisheim- Status check on Charges: DUI. Defendant had paid all fines. Still Victim Impact Panel required and completion of counseling. Matter continued to 5/8/2019.

Howard Barrows- Status check on Charges: Domestic Battery. Defendant failed to appear in court. No contact on fulfillment of requirements. Bench warrant issued.

Alyssa Fish- Status check on Charges: Domestic Battery; Reckless Driving. Defendant had paid all fines. Still working on counseling requirement. Matter continued for status check.

Craig Grantham- Status check on Amended Charges: Trespassing; Petit Larceny. All conditions met. Case closed.

Alberto Mendoza- Charges: Trespassing. Defendant appeared in custody. No criminal complaint had yet been officially filed with the DA in the matter. Defendant released from custody. Matter continued to 3/13/2019.

Dennis Lovelady- Charges: Burglary; Conspiracy to Commit Burglary. Defendant appeared in custody. He agreed to plead No Contest to Count 2 amended to charge of Petit Larceny. Burglary charge dismissed. Received a 60 jail sentence suspended to stay out of trouble for one year. Also $500 fine, part of which could be converted to Community Service. Defendant released from custody. Matter continued to 5/22/2019 for status check.

Chase Faris- Charges: Domestic Battery. Defendant appeared in custody. He entered No Contest plea on the charge. Received 90 day jail sentence suspended to stay out of trouble. Also 48 hours Community Service and 6 months of Domestic Violence counseling. In lieu of fines, given credit for time served in jail. Released from custody. Matter continued to 3/13 for status check.

Preston Clark- Charges: Domestic Battery by Strangulation; Destroy or Injure Property of Another. Defendant appeared in custody. Agreed to enter No Contest plea on amended first count charge of Domestic Battery (without felony strangulation element). Count 2 was dismissed. Received 6 month jail sentence suspended to stay out of trouble for one year. Also $348 fine and $500 in restitution to victim. Six months of Domestic Violence counseling, 48 hours Community Service. Ordered to have no contact with victim in the case. Defendant released from custody. Matter set for status check on 3/27.

Edwin Medina- Charges: Child Abuse/Neglect; Domestic Battery. Defendant entered No Contest plea to Domestic Battery charge. Child Abuse charge was dismissed. Received 6 month jail sentence suspended to stay out of trouble for one year. Also received $750 fine, six months of Domestic Violence counseling. Given credit for time served in lieu of Community Service. Matter continued to 3/27/2019 for status check.
