Mesa View Hospice Hosts Evening Of Remembrance

Moapa Valley Progress

One attendee of the Mesa View Hospice Evening of Rememberance shares memories of a loved one at the annual event which was held last week in Mesquite.

Mesa View Hospice hosted the seventh annual Evening of Remembrance at the Lutheran Church in Mesquite on Thursday, Feb. 21.

Friends and family of those who passed away under care with Mesa View in the last year were invited to attend the event to enjoy refreshments and a short program with music, readings and support.

The program was an opportunity for participants to honor their loved ones by sharing thoughts or memories along with a video montage.

According to Mesa View Director of Marketing Tracy Rodgers, 131 memories of lives celebrated were remembered at the event.
“It’s a nice way to help find some closure and to remember and go through the grieving process,” she said. “It’s also really great for their caregivers to have an opportunity to participate.”
Rodgers gave a special thanks to attendees and Mesa View staff.

Mesa View Hospice was started in Mesquite in 2010. Since that time, staff has had the honor of taking care of those who are moving through a final stage of life.

Mesa View Hospice provides hospice services at home or in contracted skilled nursing facilities. They provide care through Mesquite, Moapa Valley and the Arizona Strip area.
Mesa View staffs excellent and well-trained physicians, nursing staff, certified nursing assistants, social workers, volunteers, chaplain and numerous other staff to aide with hospice services.

Hospice care supports the family and loved ones of the person through a variety of services. Sometimes a person’s health improves or their illness goes into remission. If this happens, the primary physician may feel they no longer need hospice care. If this happens, the patient may be discharged from hospice and return to the care they had before electing the hospice benefit. Also, patients have a right to stop hospice at any time, and for any reason. If they are eligible, they can go back to hospice at any time in the future.

Mesa View Hospice is a nationally certified hospice and the recipient of the 2016 Hospice award.
