The Mesquite Fire Department will host a free community pancake breakfast on Sat., Oct. 12 from 8 to 10 a.m. at Fire Station 3 located at 3 John Deere Dr in Mesquite.
This will be the concluding event of National Fire Prevention Week in Mesquite. According to Mesquite Fire Chief Jayson Andrus, the breakfast will provide the community with an opportunity to visit the fire station and get to know the local firefighters in a casual setting.
“They can take a tour of the department and see their tax dollars at work,” Andrus said.
Members of the department’s Explorer Program will be helping with the event. While the breakfast is free and open to the public, any voluntary donations made will go directly to the Explorer Program.
In addition to eating breakfast, young attendees will have the opportunity to participate in various activities and mingle with fire department clowns: Mongo and Nozzles.
