The Moapa Valley Performing Arts Council will once again highlight the talents of local residents with the annual Moapa Valley Talent Showcase. The show will be held in the Ron Dalley Theater at Moapa Valley High School on Monday, Jan. 13 beginning at 7 pm.
Serving as Masters of Ceremony for this year’s event will be Logandale resident Gary Robison, who will also perform “Shame,” a song he wrote.
The talent showcase will offer a variety of performances on the program. Local violinist Walter White will join Gaye Nelson on piano in a duet entitled Suite in A minor, Opus 10, 1st movement-Presto by composer Christian Sinding.
Tyler and William Walker will also perform a piano duet by Franz Schubert.
Dan Bailey and Dan Bevan will favor the audience with piano and vocal rendition of “To Make You Feel My Love”.
Terje Riisnaes will be offering a photography montage.
The Moapa Valley Community Theater will be performing a brief scene from the upcoming production of “Once Upon A Mattress.”
Fusion Performance, and Muddy Cloggers will be light on their feet as they perform dance routines.
Other talented locals performing will include Brent Taylor, Ethan Han and Jeremiah Mortensen, Abby and Maddy Bailey, and Daniel Smedley.
Tickets for the talent show will be $8 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and students, and $30 for a family pass. All proceeds from the program will go to the Arts Council fund for future performances in the valley.
All events are sponsored in part by MVPAC, Individual Partners for the Arts which include Nevada Arts Council, America First Credit Union, Grant and Laurel Bushman, Moapa Valley Chamber of Commerce, Moapa Valley Telephone Company, and Board of County Commissioners.
