New Construction/Fix-It Business Is Handy To The Area

By NICK YAMASHITA

The Progress

The Freedom Renovations Co. team includes l to r Stephen Foley, Laura Foley, Heather Chavez, Lillian Singly, Kelli Hall, and Devlin Foley.

A new business in the area now offers a convenient way for residents to get small and big construction jobs done.

Freedom Renovations Co., owned by Stephen and Devlin Foley, just began operation on last month. The new “father and son” business specializes in construction and handyman jobs of all kinds.
“The neat thing about us is we do jobs that other construction companies will not touch such as little things like fixing a cabinet drawer,” said Stephen Foley.

The family-owned business started after unfortunate circumstances in previous jobs led the two to open their own business.
“We have worked for construction companies throughout our lives,” said Devlin. “Unfortunately, our last job was not able to continue to pay us, so we left and started this business.”

The two men knew what they wanted to do, but they didn’t know how to set up their own company. For that, they got help from Carol Bishop at the Logandale Cooperative Extension office. With her help in getting through the small business set-up process, they got fully licensed and up and running in a short amount of time, Devlin said.

“We had no experience in setting something like this up,” Devlin added. “We really could not have accomplished it without Carol.”

The members of the company include Stephen Foley and Devlin Foley. Also, as a Renovation Tech Kelli Hall and Thomas Sawyer with Office Manager Mike “Mr. Honcho” Brougham.

Stephen and Devlin Foley have been members of this community for about two years, having relocated here from Las Vegas.

Stephen came from Oklahoma City to Las Vegas back in 1995 and was in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, before that. He has been a certified electrician and has a lot of knowledge and experience in construction through apprenticeships and becoming a professional himself.

Devlin has been taught by his father and has done building jobs and construction jobs his whole life.
Kelli Hall moved to Moapa Valley to join Devlin and has worked multiple construction jobs as well.
Thomas Sawyer used to work at Ace Hardware in Overton and has joined the Freedom Renovations Co. team after receiving an invitation from the Foleys.

Within a short time, the whole team has raised a solid reputation for being on time and completing jobs skillfully and professionally.

Freedom Renovations customer Stephanie Viers gave an excellent review of service she received.
“They did an incredible job taking out our old nasty carpet and putting in laminate flooring!,” Viers said. “My husband and I are extremely happy with how everything turned out.”
Every review was of similar praise, concluding that the people of Moapa Valley and Mesquite were happy with the quality of work being done by Freedom Renovations Co.

“We are so grateful for the community and how they have made us feel at home here,” Stephen said.

“Everyone is so kind and friendly, and we have never had this kind of support before. We are proud to be part of this community and look forward to providing our services and remaining a part of the community from here on out.”
