There is a new alternative healing spa in Mesquite. And it comes equipped with the latest in technology and a full range of treatments.
Angel Whispers Spa and Meditation Center opened in Mesquite last February just in time to get caught in the COVID shutdown. That was rough, said spa owner Keith Peters. But since its reopening a few months later, Peters says the business has been doing well in Mesquite. So much so he is expanding by taking space next door and adding more services.
Featured at the state-of-the-art facility are two hyperbaric chambers for his patrons to use in their healing process. This addition will be called Breath Deep.
Hyperbaric chambers provide a well-established healing therapy for some people, Peters explained. The technology involves increasing the air pressure in the chamber to 2-3 times the normal air pressure.
Then the chamber is provided with pure oxygen in the pressurized environment. The treatment is used in the medical community to treat serious infections, bubbles of air in your blood vessels, and wounds that may not heal as a result of diabetes, radiation injury or other reasons.
But in a holistic medical setting, a hyperbaric treatment can offer a wide range of health benefits. Under these conditions, the patient’s lungs can gather much more oxygen than would be possible breathing pure oxygen at normal air pressure. The extra oxygen helps the body fight bacteria and stimulate the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells, which promote healing.
The treatment has been reported to help relieve the pain of arthritis patients, help patients in getting better sleep, improve general energy levels and lower blood pressure.
Peters said he has been interested in holistic medicine since he was 10 years old. “My father had terminal Hepatitis C,” he said. “His life extended by holistic medicine when conventional methods failed.”
Peters has big dreams for his practice. He said that the new Mesquite center is just a jumping off point for expanding to other locations.
“Alternative medicine has been my passion for many years,” Peters said. “This place, and the hyperbaric chamber room here, is a pilot. I have dreams of having them all over the nation. The second one will be in Lake Tahoe, where I am from.”
Peters is also a massage therapist as well as a Medical Massage therapist He spent 3-weeks in China learning Chinese methods of healing massage therapy, including Sound Therapy.
The spa and meditation side of Angel Whispers offers massages, both regular and medical, as well as reflexology and sports massage treatment. The facility also offers facial scrubs and wraps.
Peters said that he has just hired on a female therapist to the practice. In coming weeks, he also expects to be able to offer virtual face to face M.D. services.
“When that happens, we will be able to have an IV center where patrons can receive Vitamin B-12 and Vitamin C infusions and more,” he said.

This is great! There are studies that show all kinds of benefits and treating conditions, including PTSD.
I’m interested in your hyperbaric treatments for my son who has Lyme disease. What do you have available and what do you charge? Do you rent a machine for at home use? Are you able to sit up during the session or do you have to lay down?
