The Progress
Beehive Homes of Mesquite hosted an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, March 5.
Mesquite Mayor Allan Litman ceremoniously cut a red ribbon signifying the re-opening of the newly remodeled A building at the facility. Litman remarked that he had been present at the ground-breaking and the first grand opening of the residential care facility.
Mayor Litman was assisted in the ribbon-cutting by Gerald Hamilton. Hamilton and Tim Stewart are the owners of the Beehive Homes Mesquite franchise.
The residential care complex located at 780 Second South St in Mesquite is a modern facility capable of housing thirty residents. Although only nine are living there presently.
Attendees at the open house were favored with tours of the buildings which each contain fifteen spacious rooms along with the necessary kitchen and laundry facilities as well as a beauty salon/barber shop and well-equipped common areas.
House Manager Kenzie Tsosie pointed out that the resident-to-staff ratio on the property is seven to one.
The first Beehive Homes Mesquite building was constructed in 2015. The second was completed in 2018.
Both buildings have been remodeled and upgraded into the current state-of-the-art facility visited by the attendees on Friday.
Paula Stanton, Beehive Homes Marketing Director, said that visitors are always welcome to the buildings, and individual tours can be arranged for interested persons.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, refreshments were available and additional tours were taken by the visitors.
Drawings for a selection of prizes were held later in the afternoon.
