A successful Mesquite business, which has long been crowded into a small space along Mesquite Boulevard, has now found a space where it can stretch out and grow. And its brand new location will be opening very soon.

Western Tri-State Equipment; a regional dealership for Mahindra farm tractors, Takiyuchi equipment and more; is getting ready to move to Desert Springs, Arizona.

But the business will still retain a downtown Mesquite presence at its current location at 102 W. Mesquite Blvd., for some sales and rental services.

A beautiful new sales showroom, parts department and service center for Western Tri-State is now under construction on Farm Road in Desert Springs, just east of Interstate 15.

Jessica Meierhoff of Western Tri-State Equipment said that the new building will be more centrally located to serve the dealership’s large service territory.

In keeping with the ‘tri-state’ reference in its name, the business sells and rents equipment to farms and construction companies throughout a wide swath of three states including Nevada, Arizona and Utah.

That territory includes all of Las Vegas valley, Moapa Valley, Mesquite, the St. George area and everything in between. Then it stretches even further north into Cedar City, Beaver, Fillmore, Kanab, Enterprise and even goes all the way out to Paige, Arizona.

“We felt like this was a very good location for us to set up shop,” Meierhoff said of the new Desert Springs location. “It is convenient to our entire territory. You couldn’t ask for better visibility right along the Interstate here. And best of all, the land prices here were just right for what we are doing.”

The new building will offer a huge showroom with a state-of-the-art sales floor. On display will be a full line of farm and light construction equipment. In addition, the sales department will stock things like Stihl power tools and a lineup of many other smaller hardware inventory that is bound to make the local Desert Springs/Beaver Dam folks happy.

The new facility will also boast an extensive parts department supplying parts for all of the equipment that Western TriState sells, plus much more. The parts department will also include a full battery center with inventory for just about anything that needs a battery to start.

It will also offer custom hydraulics hoses. “We will be able to manufacture a custom hydraulics hose for any piece of equipment you need,” Meierhoff said.

One of the most impressive features of the new building will be its full service department. This is something that has been very limited in Western Tri-State’s current location on Mesquite Blvd., Meierhoff said.

“Any service that we have done there has had to be just done outside in the yard as best we could,” Meierhoff said. “There wasn’t space for any shop bays in our current space.”

“Here we have plenty of space for a full service center,” Meierhoff added. “And we will have a full time mechanic on staff to do service on equipment.”

The business will continue offering rentals on its equipment. The larger equipment, most often rented by big companies, utilities and municipalities, will be available from the new Desert Springs facility. But the smaller-scale equipment, rented on a day-to-day basis by people doing smaller-scale landscaping projects, will still be available out of the downtown Mesquite office.

Meierhoff said that the new building is in the final phases of construction.
“We have had a few challenges because of delays on construction materials due to COVID,” Meierhoff said. “But we are hoping to have it completed by mid-April. And if all goes well, we plan to have a grand opening event in early May before it gets too hot.”

Keep an eye on The Progress for more information on the date and time of the grand opening event.
