VFW Auxiliary Awards Art Contest Winners

The VFW Auxiliary, Post 8336 recently concluded a patriotic art contest that began in mid February. The contest was for children in kindergarten through eighth grade.

First place winners each received a check for $50 while second place winners each received $30 and third place winners collected $20 each.

Noah Graham won first place in the Kindergarten category, with Miller Palmer 2nd place, and Nora Warburton taking 3rd place. Zoe Johnson took home the first place prize in the grades 1-2 category with Keegan Winnie 2nd place and Daxton Palmer taking the 3rd place honor.

Daniel O’Dell took home first place in the 3-5 grades group while McCoy Mortensen won 2nd place and Cru Palmer won the 3rd place prize. Finally Abby Palmer was the winner in grades 6-8, with Kaven Johnson receiving 2nd place and Jane Warburton winning 3rd place.

The awards were presented to each child at their homes by Lorraine O’Dell, president of the VFW Auxiliary, Post 8336.

This is the second year the contest was held. First place winners in the community will now have their art judged at the state level.

Then 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each grade group from each state will compete at the national level.
