The Progress
Overton’s newest boutique shop celebrated its official opening with an open house event last week. On Friday, April 9, Ink and Amethyst at 257 S. Moapa Valley Blvd. welcomed customers to come check out its select inventory of specialty stationery and cards, as well as a beautiful collection of gems, rocks and crystals.
Shop owner Reyanna Jarrel had planned a hospitable and welcoming event including special discounts, giveaways, door prizes and treats.
Jarrel said that the turnout at the event had been good. “We have seen a steady flow come in throughout the day,” Jarrel said. “I appreciate the support that the community is already showing the business.”
Jarrel added that business had also been brisk throughout the day with people finding items that resonated with them and purchasing them.
“It has been a good day,” she said. “I’ve made enough today to take with me next week to get merchandise to fill our new gemstone case.”
Jarrel planned to close her shop on Monday and Tuesday this week so she could attend a regional gemstone show to purchase unique new merchandise for the store.
Shoppers who dropped by seemed pleased with the new shop in town with its comforting and relaxed feel.
“We have been needing something like this in town for a long time,” said Cyndi Graham who visited the store Friday. “And Reyanna is amazing. I’m so glad that she is doing this.”
Ink and Amethyst is open from 9 am to 4 pm on Monday thru Friday and 9 am to 3 pm on Saturday. To contact the shop call 702-397-2484.
